how it works
you order, we send you the box as soon as a sharpening slot is free. from then on you have 60 days to send your knives in. return label and postage are included.
each knife goes into its own sleeve. close the box, red tape on, off to the post office. in our workshop in uznach we check and photograph every knife when it arrives. then we sharpen by hand on the tormek, water-cooled, and finish on japanese stones.
your knives come back in the same box, with green tape. the sleeves are yours to keep. you get an email with tracking at every step.
which knives work
togu.05 covers a usual kitchen set, from the big chef's knife to the small paring knife.
steel kitchen knives, european or japanese, with blades up to 31.5 cm. we set the angle by the steel: hard steel gets a finer angle, softer steel a sturdier one. usually your current angle stays.
we don't sharpen ceramic, very fine serrations, axes or garden tools. scissors on request only.
easy.care or nerd.care
with easy.care we decide what your knives need. with nerd.care you describe each knife yourself, angle and finish included. same price either way.
quick questions
fewer knives than the package?
the package price stays the same. you can fill up with other knives.
how long does the edge last?
for most home knives roughly 6 to 12 months. a lot depends on your cutting board and care.
a knife is badly damaged?
small chips are included. for bigger damage we get in touch first. that's what thin (chf 49.–) and restore (chf 79.–) are for, only with your ok.
how is the shipment insured?
up to chf 500 per shipment included. for pricier knives there's care+ and care++.
